Passport Players Club

The Passport Players Club design is a revamped version of our popular bunny design that was released over a year ago. We’ve decided to bring it back in 2018 due to its original success and appeal to our consumers but with a twist.  We revitalized the design by incorporating more influence and inspiration from southern California lifestyle street culture which in its own right  is responsible for popularizing the iconic symbol. The original playboy bunny logo designed by Art Paul debuted in 1953 on the second issue of playboy magazine and has remained there ever since. Paul’s vision for the logo originally had a “humorous sexual connotation” as well as something that was “frisky and playful”.

Playboy Founder Hugh Hefner has gone on record saying that he chose the rabbit because;  “The rabbit, the bunny, in America has a sexual meaning; and I chose it because it’s a fresh animal, shy, vivacious, jumping – sexy. The addition of the Old English type, bold chain, and stars were added as an ode to so Cal street art culture which has adopted the bunny logo and given it a new meaning in an all new artistic perspective.

The Passport bunny  symbol is a hybrid of two iconic rabbits: bugs bunny and the playboy bunny which allowed us to develop an interesting new view on two iconic symbols of American film.  The ”Players Club” is a representation of the passport lifestyle which is the go getter mentality, it stands for any one who isn't afraid to reach for the stars which is why the use of the playboy inspired bunny was used to pay tribute to Hugh Hefner one of our favorite go getters. The Passport Players Club collection is almost sold out in store and online,  but don't worry we will be revisiting the Players Club in the future so stay tuned.
